Yesturday was sunday. (and it was a LONG sunday!)
I love sundays. Not just because its a time where Jesus and I hang out. (because we do everyday) Not just because I see my friends that I love and that love me the most. Not because its "family day" because really... its the only day that you can get my whole family together for lunch! (sad, I know) unless other wise scheduled ahead...
There's so much more then that...
Questions get answered that you may have thought about all week.
Little babies are running around care free because they know that the people around them they can trust.
Teens feel at home and welcomed by everyone no matter how old or young they are.
Its a safe place....
A place where your "family" comes and sits and talks and learns.
Yesturday was a special day for our church. We broke ground for our awesome new building on saturday and sunday was a "come together" teaching. And then sunday afternoon I went out to lunch with just my brothers and Jordans girlfriend Chelsea. (whom, I love!!) I love sitting and talking to them. They really share their heart and talk about life and everyday challenges that we're facing.
And then I went home, opened my windows, and took a nap!!! Oh man, I love a good nap! I have been ON THE GO all week and weekend!
And then after an hour and a half, I went downstairs and over heard Jordan talking to Chelsea about God and why he came to the earth and why we believe everything that we believe! MAN! I never thought that this day would come. And if it did, not this soon! I loved it. We talked to her for 2 hours about God and Adam and Eve, the towers of Babylon (if I spelled that right), Jesus' birth, the cross, heaven, revelation.... Everything you learn as a kid in sunday school, jordan and I through together in 2 hours!!! Now, did I pray with her? no. did she say "the sinners prayer" with me? no.... But what I do know is that her mind is CHURNING and WONDERING..... I planted that seed. I helped it grow. And I can't wait for the day when she comes up to me and talks to me about becoming a Christ follower... a servant...
Then I went to Seeker's Coffee House where our youth group is temporarily meeting. I walked in on awesome praise and worship, and watching teens fall more in love with God!! And then Pastor Brad did a great sermon on the Evidence of God. Why he exist and why we believe what we believe. Good sermon! And then at the end, wrapping my arms around my favorite girls and loving on them and talking to them as if we never missed a bet the whole week!
And then Jared Numbers, Chelsea Lovett and myself have a ritual of going to Stake-n-Shake after church. Well Jared was working all day, so Chelsea and I decided that we would go anyways. And low and behold!! We ran into some of our favorite people!!! Cassie Jo, Avram, Mark and Matt Gross, and Andrew Plassmen (Spud)!! Man, the whole time was nothing but laughing and talking about the good ol' days. Flicking rolled up straws. Talking about what Stanley knows because we americans like to teach him things! The living cross and "Jesus"! Kick ball... Man, what an incredible time!
And then, to end the night, Chelsea and I drove to woodburn to see Jared. And on the way there and back we had a great sister to sister conversation that was more then needed!! And I love ending my nights having a good convo! ( I love you Chelsea!)
Now, your probably wondering, whats the GREAT MEANING behind all of this....
Well, as I'm sitting here typing it all out at work, I can't help but think, where would I be without all of my family and friends?! The memories, the laughing, the small talk, the smiles, the love.... everything that you look for in a family of friends. I am just now realizing that, even though I'm just 21 and I still have (to what I think) a life ahead of me, I can not cherish enough the people that surround me! I love the talks that I have with my brothers, and I love running into old friends and talking about what was and what is! I love long car rides and talking to my best friend, my sister, the one who knows me best and I can tell anything too! I love seeing teens cry out to God because they so desperately want a bigger understanding of who he is!
And as I sit here at work, I pray that today will be just as good if not better then yesturday. For yesturday is now history and tomorrow is still a mystery . But TODAY... Today, I will make the most of it! I will live my life to the fullest and make sure that Gods plan is well ahead of me!!
Thank you Lord for my family and my dear friends. They will never know how much they truly mean to me! I love them with everything thats in me! They have no idea what kind of impact they have on my life! Thank you Lord!! You made today and you already know what lies ahead tomorrow! I love you... help me make history! |
